I just saw Woody Allens ‘Vicky, Christina, Barcelona’ again. It´s a wonderful film. And it´s wonderful to enjoy Scarlett and Penelope, I must admit.

But there´s more to it. It´s core message – in my view – is very interesting: The two young americans are going to Barcelona to experience the new, to relax, to enjoy – to get away from ‘the normal daily routine’.

Meeting the handsome and sexy painter they sure find something new and exciting 🙂

But…they also find that this very laid back and sensory-pleasing lifestyle aint gonna make them genuin happy either.

So there they are: The ‘normal’ wont bring contentment and happiness. The excessive, emotioanl and sensory-focused life wont either. Here we all are!

Genuin contentment and happiness won´t be found in the relative world – only in the absolute. This has been the core of buddhist teaching for over 2500 years.
